This year, Rotary Club of Flagler County's Fantasy of Lights display will have an addition to Santa's Village thanks to students in Erin Weed's art class and her after school "Building Careers" Club at Buddy Taylor Middle School. The "Building Careers" Club is a new club and the result of a successful partnership between Flagler County Education Foundation and the Flagler Home Builders Association that provide support for the club.
On Thursday January 26 seven students from Flagler Palm High School i3 New Tech Academy traveled to Grand Haven to help Grand Haven Women's Club members with their technology questions. Students expertly assisted members with security questions, tips to assist in maximizing storage of files, and ways to use apps to assist in a host of everyday needs. Students and club members report overwhelming success in the collaboration, with plans to repeat the experience again next school year.
On February 3, 2017 Flagler County Education Foundation President Matt Maxwell announced the retirement of Executive Director Deborah Williams and hiring of Joseph Rizzo for the executive director position, effective February 13, 2017.
Joseph Rizzo will take on the executive director title February 13, 2017. Mr. Rizzo is a Flagler County Education Foundation Past-President (2013-14), Flagler Palm Coast High School graduate and successful restaurant entrepreneur.
