Flagler County Education Foundation honors their Donors with a wall
The Flagler County Education Foundation has constructed an Annual Giving Donor wall to honor the Foundation’s top donors. “The wall is something I have wanted to do since the day I started at the Foundation. I feel it is important to let the community know who the Friends of the Foundation are, and this is one small way to let our donors know how much we appreciate them.”, said Joe Rizzo, Executive Director of the Flagler County Education Foundation.
The wall echos the logo of the Foundation, a tree. The leaves represent each of the individual donors, and have been done in different sizes. “The sizes reflect the amount donated. As the tree fills we can add leaves to accommodate more donors thus making this a living wall.”, said Shelley Wheeler, Operation & Database Specialist. The trunk of the tree also honors those who have given a Legacy Trust. The tree is finished with a single apple in the center to honor Peter & Sue Freytag who made the wall possible through a generous donation. The donation will also allow the Foundation to increase their Take Stock In Children enrollment numbers from the current 77 to 100 over the next 2 years. “We are excited to be able to add 20 more students in the TSIC program. The Freytags have been long time supporters of the program, and we are so thankful for their generosity.”, said Becca Bower Scholarship Specialist.
The Foundation is holding a ribbon cutting Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at 4:30 p.m. in the entrance of the Government Services Building where the tree is on display.
